Chairman

Chairman of Cocolife since January 1, 2017. He currently holds the following positions: Director, United Coconut Planters Bank General Insurance Co. Inc., Director, ACRO team-Unilever Distributor, ACRO Tel Sun Cellular Network Distributor. He is also President of the Alumni Association, University of the Philippines, President, Rotary Club of Makati (Paseo de Roxas). His other work experiences are: Head of Trust Department of United Coconut Planters Bank, Head of Planning and Packaging Group-Investment Management Division of Bancom Development Corporation, member, Integrated Bar of the Philippines, President, Philippine Life Insurance Association (PLIA). He graduated in 1966, from the University of the Philippines, Diliman with an AB Economics Degree, He took up law from the same university and graduated with a law degree in 1970. He has a past- graduate degree (MA Economics) from the University of East Anglia, England, UK.

Isabelo P. Africa

He currently holds the following positions: President & CEO, Member, Board of Directors, UCPB General Insurance Co., Inc., Managing Director of Direct Link Insurance Agency and Archipelago Motor Corporation, Comptroller & Actuary, Member, Board of Directors, Cocoplans, Inc., Member, Board of Directors, United Fund, Inc., Cocolife Fixed Income Fund, Inc. and Cocolife Asset Management Company, Inc. His previous work experiences are the following: Senior Vice President for Technical and Administrative Operations & Actuary of the United Coconut Planters Life Assurance Corporation, Asst. Vice President & Actuary of Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation, Chief Insurance Specialist for the Insurance Commission, Instruction Specialist in Mathematics in Philippine Science High School, Professorial Lecturer in Actuarial Mathematics in the University of the Philippines. He graduated in 1975, cum laude fram the University of the Philippines with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. He has a Master of Science in Mathematics, major in Actuarial Science from the University of Michigan, USA.

Roberto B. Armada

Director of Cocolife since September 7, 2011. He graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a degree in Asian Studies. Former Director of UCPB-CIIF Finance and Development Corporation, current President of Iloilo Prime Realty Marketing. He held the following positions: 2001 - 2007 Vice Governor of Iloilo; 1995 - 2000 Vice Mayor; 1998 - 2001 President of Vice Mayors League of the Philippines Iloilo chapter, Liaison officer at the Office of the Vice Governor, Iloilo.

Emerson B. Aquende

Board Member

Director of Cocolife since November 15, 2011. At present he is a lecturer/professor at the University of Philippines, College of Law. His work experiences include the following: President, Forbes Academy Inc., Managing Partner, Aquende Aquende and Partners, Dean/ Assistant Professor, Aquinas University, College of Law, Legal Consultant, National Electrification Administration, Managing Partner Aquende Fernandez Ralla Law Offices and solo practitioner, Aquende Law Office. He graduated from De La Salle University with a BS Commerce degree and obtained his Bachelor Degree in Law at the University of the Philippines, Diliman.

Roberto B. Armada

Director of Cocolife since September 7, 2011. At present, he is the President of lloilo Prime Realty Marketing. His other work experiences include Director of UCPB-CIIF Finance and Development Corporation, Vice Governor of lloilo (2001-2007); Vice Mayor (1995-2000); President of Vice Mayor's League of the Philippines, lloilo Chapter, Liaison Officer at the Office of the Vice Governor, lloilo. He graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a degree in Asian Studies.

Felicismo B. Billones

Director of Cocolife since October 19, 2016. He currently holds the following positions: Director and Treasurer of Northern Cement Corporation, President and CEO of Radio Corporation of the Philippines, President and CEO of Lucky Star Holdings, Inc., President and CEO of First United Travel, Inc., Director, Treasurer and Chief Finance Officer of ECJ & Sons Enterprises, Inc. He graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, major in accounting from the Liceo de Cagayan University, Cagayan de Oro City. He is a certified public accountant. He has a Master in Development Studies, also known as Master of International and Community Development from the Deakin University, Melbourne & Geelong, Victoria, Australia.

Carolina G. Diangco

Board Member

Director of Cocolife since November 26, 1998. She is also currently a member of the Board of Directors of the following companies: Bank of Commerce, Cocolife Asset Management Co. Inc., UCPB General Insurance Co., Inc. Previously, she was a member of the Board of Directors of United Coconut Planters Bank & UCPB Rural Bank. She also held the position of Treasurer for the following companies: CIIF Finance Corporation, UCPB Foundation Corporation and UCPB Securities Inc., and was the Controller of Mastercaterers Inc., UCPB Condominium Corporation., and UCPB Properties, Inc. Her previous work experiences are the following: SVP-Controller, United Coconut Planters Bank, Consultant, Central Visayas Finance Corporation. She graduated from the University of the Philippines in 1963 with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Accountancy.

Atty. Jose Martin A. Loon

He was elected as Director of Cocolife on June 29, 2018. He is the founding partner of Aquende Yebra Aniag Loon & Associates Law Offices. At present, he holds the following positions: Member, Consultative Committee to Review the 1987 Constitution (appointed by President Rodrigo R. Duterte), Legal Counsel/Confidential Assistant, Inigo & Mercedes Zobel; Consultant, Office of the President, San Miguel Corporation, Independent Director, Cyberbay Corporation, Professorial Lecturer in International Security Studies and Politics & Governance, Ateneo de Manila University, Professorial Lecturer in Legal Research, Persons and Family Relations Law and Transportation Law, Manuel L. Quezon University Law School and other law schools. His previous work experiences are the following: Executive Assistant and Senior Aide to the Senate Majority Leader Alan Peter 5. Cayetano, Consultant, Senate Minority Leader (Oversight Committee on Tax Reform/ Oversight Committee on Automated Elections), Legal Intern at Poblador, Bautista & Reyes Law Office and at the University of the Philippines College of Law Office of Legal Aid. He graduated in 2008 from the Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in Bachelor of Arts, major in Political Science. Higinio O. Macadaeg, Jr.

Director of Cocolife since October 20, 2017. He is currently the President and CEO of United Coconut Planters Bank. Before he became the president, he held the following positions at UCPB: Member, Board of Directors, EVP & Head of Corporate & Consumer Banking Group, EVP & Head of Institutional & Retail Bank, EVP & Chief Credit Officer. His previous work experiences include: Managing Director, Risk Trends, Inc., EVP and Senior Credit Officer, Equitable PCI Bank, Senior Vice President, Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company (as a result of its acquisition of Solidbank Corporation), Senior Vice President, Solidbank Corporation, Vice President, Standard Chartered Bank, Assistant Vice President, CityTrust Banking Corporation, Assistant Manager, Filinvest Credit Corporation. He graduated in 1981, from the Ateneo de Manila University, Bachelor of Science in Management. He took up Advance Management Training Program at Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Elmo A. Nobleza

Before he became the President, he held the following positions at Cocolife: Senior Vice President & Head, Group Marketing Division, First Vice President & Head, Group Marketing Division, Senior Manager & Head, Group Marketing Division, Manager, Business Development Department, Manager, Accounts Servicing and Documentation Department, Manager, Accounts Servicing and Documentation Department, Assistant Manager, and Sales Manager He is a member of the Board of Directors of Cocolife Asset Management Company, Inc., Dollar Fund Builder, Inc. and Health Assist Inc. Previously, he was an Actuarial Assistant at Great Pacific Life Insurance Corporation (GREPALIFE). He graduated in 1980 from the University of the Philippines with a degree in Bachelor of Science, major in Statistics. He has units in Master of Science in Mathematics- Actuarial Science.

Dr. Rogelio V. Paglomutan

Director of Cocolife since January 24, 2012. He is an economist and an associate professor of finance and economics in leading universities. He is currently teaching at the University of Santo Tomas, College of Accountancy. He was a faculty member of the following universities: University of the Philippines, University of Asia and the Pacific, De La Salle University-Manila, Universidad de Los Andes - Santiago City, Chile, South America, and at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology - Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (an Australian University). He was previously the Dean of the University of the East - College of Business Administration, His other previous work experiences include: Deputy National Treasurer of the Philippines, Department of Finance, Assistant Secretary, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Chief Finance Officer of Brass Chile Co., Investment Officer at the University of the Philippines Foundation, Inc., Founder and Executive Director of the Bureau of Treasury Provident Fund, Inc. He graduated cum laude in Siliman University with a bachelor's degree in business management. He has a Master of Arts degree in Economics and Doctor of Business Administration, major in Finance at the University of the Philippines, He pursued post- doctoral studies in Finance and Investment at McGill University in Montreal, Canada and obtained a diploma course on Tertiary Teaching and Learning at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

Gabriel L. Villareal

He is currently a Managing Partner at the Villareal Law Offices, a Director at the following companies: Anchor Insurance Brokerage Corporation, Dutch Boy Philippines, Inc., Cosmos Bottling Corporation, and Sta. Elena Golf Club. Previously, he was a Senior Associate at the Angara Concepcion Regala and Cruz Law Offices, Director at San Miguel Corporation, and President of Wack Wack Golf and Country Club. He graduated in 1979, cum laude, from the University of the Philippines, College of Law with a degree of Bachelor of Laws. He placed 9th in the 1979 bar examination.
